Hello from Toronto, Canada
Hey!
My name is Julian, I'm 28 years old and have become interested in rebuilding, modding, and hot-rodding vintage road bikes over the past couple of years. Right now I'm riding an 80s Raleigh Super Record frame with Shimano 600 hubs and Shimano 105 groupset.
I stumbled across this forum and decided to make an account. Its nice to meet you all, I'm excited to be here!

Welcome aboard, Julian! Sounds like you will like the Classic & Vintage forum and the Early Brifter Bikes forum. C&V is primarily restorers who like downtube shifters, etc. but there some regulars like me who enjoy resto-mods of older frames. You can also pick up some good information on older bikes and bikes in general because there are a lot of smart people who are regulars. Here is one of my projects, a 1986 Schwinn Peloton set up with SRAM 10 speed.

Thanks John! Yes the Classic & Vintage section is where i'll be reading. Im into downtube shifters as well, I prefer to find second hand vintage parts, but I think my next build will be a mix of modern and classic components. That build will start once i find the right frame! Appreciate the warm welcome.

Welcome neighbor, from SE Wisconsin.
Lots of people join for vintage bikes, it seems.

Hello from T.O !
Hey Julian,
Fellow Toronto biker here! I live out in the east end and do the majority of my riding along the waterfront trail (I live near Rouge Beach). I've been a member of the forum for a bit but not to much activity from me. I just traded in my Giant Roam for a new Trek Dual Sport 3 Gen 5 and love it! Welcome!

Nice to have you. I'm from Toronto, too. Not really in the downtown core but still count as GTA. I am a mechanic and also fond of vintage bikes, but in a different direction. I have a 198x Raleigh and I put a GRX groupset on it. My current project is a 1995 Specialized Crossroads, maybe this one I should refrain from using modern components.
