Welcome, from SE Wisconsin.
If you find riding not to be much fun with the racing bike, be aware that there are more comfortable ways to ride. You won't be as fast nor efficient, but you won't have the neck and wrist pain either. If it's about getting exercise and sight-seeing, even a heavy, old, slow bike will do.
Enjoy your stay!
