Hello!
Newbie here, but been lurking a while, and I LOVE this forum.
Random facts:
- I tried a carbon bike, but C&V steel is more my thing. I am now resisting the urge of N+1. I have 3 right now, but need a “winter” bike that is not too precious for road salt…maybe a Schwinn.
- I have a slightly too big Raleigh International (top tube too long!), a perfect Miyata 615GT, and I just acquired a Fuji S12-S LTD.
- I’m learning bike maintenance by working on the Fuji—last decade I acquired and repaired 11 vintage sewing machines, bikes will be this decade.
- I taught my older daughter to ride her bike, proudest parenting moment so far.
- I ride 9 miles to work and/or back a few times a week. I’m also planning my first short solo, self-supported bike tour for next month.
Thanks for having me!

Ha! Sewing machines are just a little less fatal when fixed up incorrectly...but yeah, both have wheels, pedals, gears, both use tri-flow, pretty much the same thing, really.
