Bump Town Roadie
Long before Oakland was called Oak Town, it was known as Bump Town, so dubbed by Union Pacific RR engineers because of a hump under tracks that ran through the city. I am not that old, however. I've been riding East Bay roads diligently since the late '80s. Almost all of my too-numerous bikes are steel resto-mods. I love vintage frames, but I don't love vintage shifters, brakes, or derailleurs. I am friendly in person, I can be a grouch at the keyboard occasionally

. Looking forward to learning and contributing.

Welcome aboard Waldo62! I'm in the east bay foothills, sometimes riding with the Oakland Yellowjackets.
I happily ride a small collect of steel bikes from the 80's with downtube shifters. I may convert a few of them to aero levers, maybe some to ergopower.

A grouch sometimes? You're gonna fit right in! Check out the Classic & Vintage forum and the Early Brifter Bike forum, lots of like-minded folks on here. Welcome aboard! Gotta share a couple of my retro-mods in my garage:
