Hi from Downstate Illinois

Hey y'all,

Been lurking from the google results for some time now, finally getting in on the conversation. I'm a bike co-op person, most of my riding is commuting and country roads. In keeping with the co-op mission, most of my builds are modernizing older frames with creature comforts like more standard wheel sizes, fork swaps, better gearing. Lots of frankenbikes with some nicer stuff sprinkled in there sometimes.

Cheers.

Sounds like you will fit in to the C&V forum just fine, Rene. There are a few of us who like to make "hot rods" of the older frames and it is always a pleasure to welcome a like-minded cyclist aboard.

You said you were from down state Illinois and you are a bike co-op person. I am from far west Kentucky less than 30 minutes from Metropolis. Where is your co-op? I have a number of bikes that I would love to go to someone who could use them as parts bikes or candidates for rebuilding. Please PM me.

Bikes: Bikes??? Thought this was social media?!?

Lots of folks here who embrace the philosophy of 'Keep them on the Road'.

Welcome.
