Hello from new vintage guy in the SF Bay Area!
Hello, everybody. I'm glad to discover Bike Forums - I've managed to track down some obscure information here that has proved to be very helpful!
I live in Oakland, California, and have started riding with a club again after decades of riding mostly just to run errands. (I mostly have not owned a car for my adult life.)
Posting my bikes here:
I do intend to join the 21st century with my next bike!
Looking forward to chatting with folks here.

Posting my bikes here:
- 1968 Raleigh Sports - my workhorse for the aforementioned errands.
- 1982 Team Fuji (repainted by D&D Cycles in 1992) - frankenbike whose components tell various stories of the history of my first chapter with bikes, 1980 +/- 5 years. (Not a current photo - I now have non-aero levers on it and different bar tape (R.I.P.!) and pedals. - but it's the best I've got at the moment.)
- 1986 Guerciotti Carbonio, which I bought last month. It was my questions about this one that brought me to Bike Forums.
I do intend to join the 21st century with my next bike!
Looking forward to chatting with folks here.

Glad you are here, Kurt_B! The Guerciotti is a very handsome bike; I have a similar Trek CF tube/aluminum lug frame hanging on my workout room wall waiting to rebuilt. I look forward to seeing your posts from time to time in the C&V subforum.

Welcome aboard Kurt B!
Your bikes look great! I hope you're getting that gorgeous Guerciotti in good running shape. Did you opt for blue or black tape with the Fuji?
I'm in Oakland too! Occasionally I'll ride with the Oakland Yellow Jackets, but lately I just head for the hills on my own.
Which club are you riding with? Are you recording rides on Strava? I don't have any recent photos. Here's me and the Colnago atop Mt. Hamilton earlier this spring.

Hi Eric! Thanks for the compliments. Yep, I'm riding the Guerciotti a few times a week, and it's a joy. For the Fuji, I have tape in sort of a burnt orange color. It goes well with the blue and the white cables/cage and touches of black accessories.
I've been riding with the Veloraptors and might try Berkeley Bicycle Club this weekend. I'll look into the Yellow Jackets. Looks like they don't have many rides this time of year, though.
No Strada - I'm too old-fashioned!!
Nice Colnago. It looks just a few years younger than mine.

Hello!
Kurt B this is Kirk B, I too just joined the forum. I too have older 70's and 80's bikes as well as a newer Calfee Carbon Tetra Pro. I too live in the east bay area of SF bay. I am just getting back on the road bike, since my PX-10 died and I have not fixed her. Have a 9er MTB on the trails in the east bay as was my only riding until this last month. Love the bay bridge ride to Treasure Island from Oakland.....kb
