Hello from Southern California
Hello, I am an amateur cyclist and fornicator of frames. I don't know a whole lot about bike building, but I do enjoy learning and failing my way through learning. I ride a 93' Via Carisma turned into a CX rat build, a 13' Novara Veritá, and a 520 Reynolds Jamis Ventura. Trying to teach myself, wheel lacing and hub rebuilding.

Welcome, from SE Wisconsin!
Between the Bicycle Mechanics sub here, a good bike tech book (Park Tools makes a popular one) and YouTube University, you should be all set for many years of learning through failure and frustration, hehehe.
I guess it's all good as long as you have one operational bike while you learn on the other.
Enjoy your stay!

Welcome from another SoCal rider. The variety of routes here is honestly the best part — coast, mountains, city, everything within reach. When I first got back into cycling I spent more time reading forums than riding. At one point I was comparing bed bath and beyond reviews while waiting for parts to arrive, which shows how random downtime browsing gets. Hope you enjoy the local rides.
