Hello folks, I just registered.
I've been riding as an adult since the 1970s, am a founding member of a local bike club, and have ridden my bicycle for recreation, transportation, commuting to and from work, and done some short tours with the longest being about 750 miles.
Between my wife and myself we have a variety of bikes but my usual ride is a Surly Disc Trucker that I bought in 2019. I hope to be a contributing member here. Oh, and my name is Paul.

, from SE Wisconsin.Sounds like you've got many miles' worth of experience to share; see you around!
By the way, I shopped the Disc Trucker, but wound up with this instead. It's decidedly lighter duty, but enough for me. I'm going to put the regular rack back on. This one looks svelte, but is actually HEAVIER than a conventional rack, as it has to be so thick for the cantilever design to work. (and that is only rated for 20 lbs.)

Priority Apollo 11 belt drive. Convenient and low maintenance, with its Shimano Alfine 11 internal gear hub and Gates carbon belt drive. A bit on the slow side though...
