Hi. I've been a roadie for about 1 1/2 years. Previously a runner. Knees declared that I needed to cut back on the running. I have a trek but definitely don't love it. I've learned alot on other forums and thought I'd try my luck here.

Hello Charl-
Welcome! I have a Trek that I love. Each person's geometry is different and therefore necessitates a particular ride. With that being said, welcome aboard and if you ever come to the Asheville area call, there are wonderful rides up here!

I bought my trek new. It is a 2100 WSD. It has never shifted smoothly. I can barely get into the big ring on the cassette. I have to use all my strength on the shifter. I have a triple in front and of course I am not in the big ring in front when attempting this. I'm in the middle. Then one day it started making a funny noise from the back/cassette area. I had to have the freewheel (I think that's what it was) replaced. Warranty thank god. So I sorta feel like it's a lemon. The fit is fine though. So I am no trek lover.

Hey everybody:
Thanks for the warm welcome. msheron: I've ridden in Asheville once. It was the JDRF ride. (juvenille diabetes). It was beautiful. I also did the blood sweat and gears ride. That was amazing. I sure can't complain about the great riding around here. I moved here 18 months ago.

I lived in Charlotte 8 years almost! Went to UNCC and then left to go to the mountains. Have the bike shop adjust the bike for you or have you already done that? Oh well...................my bike goes into the shop for upgrading the components to all Ultegra! Whooo hoooo! It will be a new ride after next week.
