Hi, I'm new here

Hi all,
I just signed up as a new user. My main interest is in bicycle touring, mainly by mountainbike to strange places in the world...
Apart from that I occasionally join mountainbike marathon races, not to win, but more to have fun. And then there's long-distance road racing - who will join for next year's Paris-Brest-Paris?

I joined this forum to be able to exchange experiences also with the english-speaking community - I am also an active member of a German bike touring forum.

Anyway, that's it.

Umm.....since the Paris-Brest-Paris is a radonne, I think that you will be at quite a disadvantage on a mountain bike against all those Audax bikes. I even doubt that they would allow you to race the event with anything else. Where are you planning on qualifying? If you choose the qualifacation race in California, I'd be interested to see how you do.

Hey Alex,
maybe it didn't become clear that I'm the proud owner of several bikes - four to be precise.
And one of them is a road racing bike which I'll use for the qualifications and PBP. It served well last time. As far as I know the regulations do not exclude mountainbikes as such, apart from the fact that if I were to use a mountainbike I would use different tires, and most probably also mount a larger front chainring, as I had done for Trondheim-Oslo (550km) before I had the road bike...
