Bikes: A $100 Dept. Store Mongoose. It's not very fast, but it is a fairly mean workout. :P

Hey guys.
I decided to give commuting by bike a chance about a week ago, so I picked up a cheap trail bike from Target. I figured I'd upgrade after I knew I was sure about my new hobby. I'm still going through my beginner's aches, but I'm pretty sure now... if cycling stays this fun, I'm probably gonna be doing it for the rest of my life.
I'm not perfectly happy with my bike itself, though. Especially how close the frame is to the gonads.! I think pretty soon, I'm gonna practice bailing out, cause if I crash, I fear my clusters will be in great danger. It's also really tiring to get up to speed, maybe it's outta tune, maybe I'm outta tune.
But I figure I'll throw some pedal clips on it, build muscle, and learn how to wrench a little.
I also had some fun with anti-theft measures, wrapping my entire frame in black electrical tape. I dunno how well it will work, but it doesn't say "MONGOOSE" anymore, and it no longer looks like a shiny new girlie-man bike. Hopefully they don't think there's a Bianchi under there... heh.
What else? Hm. I also noticed, whenever I see someone on a bike now... I feel good inside. I dunno why.
Anyway. Hi. I'm new.
