Hello From Palmdale, California
Hello everyone, I知 from Palmdale, California and recently retired. I知 currently riding a mountain bike but shopping for a road bike. I壇 like to get in better shape, join a local bike club and eventually ride in charity events. I look forward to learning what I can from the forum and on-line friends I hope to make. Good luck and good riding to all.

Welcome. Is it still possible to ride on the access road that runs along the California Aquaduct north and south of Hesperia? I supported a ride called the Tour of Two Forests that went out along Elizabeth Lake road and Pine something road to Quail lake and beyond a couple of times. I also crewed for a contestant in an event that went from the Six Flags amusement park area through Elizabeth Lake and north to Death Valley then south to 29 Palms. A last event my wife and I sagged for was Mojave by Moonlight, a fun night time event for summertime. So; I know you have a lot of good roads in you area. Enjoy.

Bikes: Specialized Tarmac Expert, 2002 TREK 520, Schwinn Mesa WINTER BIKE, Huffy Rock Creek 29er, 1970s-era Ross ten speed. All my bikes are highly modified(except the Tarmac) yet functional, and generally look beat to ****. .

Hello Crank, and welcome.
I lived out in Cal. City for about 13 years or so. Used to ride mountain bikes on the trails out in that area, sometimes up into Tehachapi. Definitely learned to carry plenty of fluid when riding out through the desert!
There used to be a really good bike shop in Lancaster, I can't remember the name of it. It was down on Ave J and about 10th st. west, if I remember correctly. I don't know if they're still there, but they had a lot of road bikes in stock.
