Hello world!

Greetings from downtown Toronto.

I moved from Scarborough to the core at the beginning of June. I was loaned (given?) a Raleigh mountain bike to commute with. Enjoyment factor ensued.

Wanting to get more out of this new found hobby than my freebie bike was perhaps capable of giving me, I've just bought myself a new one. It's a fixed from Urbane Cyclist on John. Their staff was patient enough to endure perhaps 6+ hours of my questions, in total.

Had my first 'accident', of sorts, yesterday. Practicing doing a track stand at a red light at Front and University, I lost my balance, failed in spectacular fashion to disengage my cleat, and took the full weight of the fall on my hands (and face). Gloves and a helmet prevented any abrasions, but boy are the muscles around my elbows sore. Not to mention my ego.

Ok, so this post is to say hi. Hi!

Bikes: Giant ATX 1200, Schwinn Peleton

Do yourself a big favor, and loosen your pedal tension! While you're just getting used to them, accidents can, and ususally do happen.
