Closest thing to flying
I was a long distance runner for 30+ years. Towards the end I was getting injuries just putting on my shoes. I procrastinated getting a bike because of sharing the road with the four wheelers. Two months ago I got a TREK 1000 thinking I'd ride it a couple times a week. Now I'm addicted and can only sadly shake my head when I pass a poor jogger slogging along -- much better to fly by. I live in Dayton Oh -- plenty of bikepaths and back roads and a ten mile commute to work. The cars aren't so bad, the edge of the road is bike turf, and the burning lactic acid only makes it more interesting. Looking forward to learning about bikes from everyone on the BF. I've already had a few good laughs too.

Welcome moonpie! Damn! Now I want a moonpie. Riding's so much more fun than running. No shin splints, no pained look on your face...

Welcome moonpie. Maybe you can explain the fascination with running these joggers have.

I've been a road cyclist for 20 years, and I recently began running. Go figure.
