Great forum!
I came across this forum while surfing around various bike sites. Oh, how rude; I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Chris and I work as a Firefighter in Austin, Tx. I rode my bike across the country, from Oregon to Maine, oh maybe 13 years ago and worked as a courrier in Boston for a while before that. I really enjoy cycling, but I've never been really knowledgable about it. That's part of the attraction--very accessible activity without big investments of time of money (relatively speaking!). After several years off-bike I've now begun taking my 3-year-old to school in a trailer and we both love it. I'd like to commute to work but there are issues that I need to work out before that can happen.
Anyway, I'm really impressed by the forum--great, upbeat content and no immature name-calling. Looking forward to learning alot!

Can I do mature name calling instead?
Everyone here knows I'm kidding. Welcome to the forum! I have a friend who wants to ride his bike across country too. Why, I don't know, but hey... love of the game???
I'm sure you'll enjoy it here as much as the rest of us. I give you 3 days before you become totally addicted... 2 days, if you're as weird, twisted, and geeky as the rest of us...

Welcome to Bike Forums Chris.
I hope you can get things worked out because commuting is a great way to start the day. And the ride home will get rid of any stress from the job.
