Not sleepless in Seattle, but SS'ing in Seabeck!
Hello Everyone. I have been skulking about this forum for a long time, to timid to post, but enjoying the conversations at a distance anyway. I am pretty much an every-other-day solo ss'er except when I can drag my neighbor on the trails with me. I also work hard to get my family biking. My kids were riding without training wheels at age 3 1/2 and 4 and now at 7 and 9 they have done so long rides including the last two Chilly Hilly rides. My wife is is supportive of my hobby as long as I don't spend too much too quickly and my latest need is a Cannondale Capo. My off road machine is a Giant Two2One, fully rigid which I ride in the rain and in the dark. Currently I am rehabing a torn left calf muscle, which I sustained on my first cyclocross race in Bellingham three weeks ago. The injury leaves me depressed and wanting to buy stuff. Oh and I am on the 39 end of 38, 6'4", married with two children a cat and two dogs and I have a hammer toe.

Seabeck! Wow, you are almost in the middle of nowhere. Do you work at Bangor? Where do you do your regular riding? I wouldn't have thought you were on 'friendly' roads out there, at least I remember the roads as not having much of a shoulder.
Welcome to BF!
Oh, and come talk to us in the PNW regional forum.

Not quite nowhere, but we can see it from here.
Thanks for the reply. I'm a science teacher actually. The seabeck roads can be dangerous, though you can find times when traffic is low. I often see Cascade Bicycle Club doing rides out here. Since I started the ss thing two years ago I have done most of my riding on the local trails, but I am interested in some road ss when I can save up for a machine. I also have a C'dale touring bike, which I like for all the family rides as I can load my house on it. I will check out the PNW forum--thanks again.
