Hi Everybody,

Just thought I'd drop a message to introduce myself. I learned to ride when I was younger, but only took up cycling seriously in the last few months (I'm currently 22) when I decided to start cycling to work (about 20 km each way) on a K-mart special fixed-fork MTB with drops and slick 1.5" tires.

Now I've caught the bug, so I'm waiting impatiently for my 2007 Merida 904-COM to arrive at my local bike store later this week. Then I'm going to start training for real, hopefully some racing next summer (Nov-Mar in my part of the world - Adelaide, Australia).

Hello elgalad, good luck with your training--you may want to visit the Australia-New Zealand regional forum, as there are/were a lot of racers in that lot.
