Bikes: Rocinante, an old Schwinn Traveller of uncertain vintage, which makes a great singlespeed city bike.

Hi from Louisville

Howdy, I'm Calico Future from Louisville, KY. I am currently planning a long road trip this summer to attend United Bicycle Institute in Ashland, OR. There I will do their two-week Bicycle Repair & Shop Operation class, then tour various DIY bike projects of the type that are appearing in cities all over the USA, volunteering my time and becoming more competent at building & fixing up old bikes. Within the next two years, I hope to start a collectively-run bike shop in my own town, doing our part to get more people out of their cars and on bikes for greater happiness, health and fun. I hope this forum can help me with my plans!

Good luck with the tour and bike class, the collective sounds like a great idea. You should contact Barry Zalph with bicycling for louisville with your idea. Da Ville is on its way to becoming a bike supreme city.
