Cycling and beer, the perfect match.
Hi all, I just moved to the Baltimore area in Maryland and decided to take apart the bike I bought last summer and put it back together. I am doing this for two reasons, one it needs a tune up (and I can't see paying someone more than I paid for the bike to do it), and so I know how each part is put together. I enjoy riding long distances, preferably stopping at a micro-brewery along the way. Living in New Jersey this was a little easier than it appears it will be in Maryland. The main goal of riding for me is exercise and fun, but I do plan to take part in some century races, but only to improve my own times, not in any attempt to win or place or anything ridiculous like that.

Welcome!
It was great to read your post! If you get the chance, come on down to Roanoke, Va and join our club's (Blue Ridge Bicycle Club) Tuesday Night Beer Ride. It's a 21 mile ride, blasting up Walnut Avenue to the Mill Mountain spur road, left on the Blue Ridge Parkway, exit off the parkway on to Mount Pleasant road, then a mad dash back to the Roanoke Transportation Museum we the ride starts. Then we all head to the pub for a pint, food and fellowship. We love to have visitors! check out www.blueridgebicycleclub.com

If you're into bikes and beer a visit to Belgium should be on the cards.

Welcome to the forums
A cold beer after a ride can indeed be refreshing. I did a 45 mile ride which ended at a Brew-Pub in West Virginia last Sunday. Nice post ride pasta meal, and a cold brew really helped relax the muscles afterward.

I agree. Belgium has so many breweries. I've only ridden to one (St Feuillian) so far from my house but I plan on hitting up many more. I'm just getting into riding and so far being in Europe as really been a great experience.
