Hello from SF Bay Area...

Hi Guys,

Just checking in and wanted to say, "Hello!". Even though I'm a newbie to this forum, I've been an active rider for a very long time. Between my wife and I, we have 10 bicycles, everything from a Ti road bike, to a vintage Italian folding bike. Our latest acquisitions are two Xootr Swift folding bikes; nice riding and well designed folding bicycles.

Other hobbies include kayaking, motorcycle riding, and flying our Citabria 7ECA.

Regards,
Harry

Hello Harry, it sounds as if you have a lot of fun in the outdoors . Don't forget to check into the Northern California regional forum. You've probably seen a Bike Forums member or two roaming the wilds of Menlo Park--you can recognise some of them by the Northern California BF jersey.

Welcome to BF!

Hi Harry, and welcome to Bike Forums. I have a Cessna 172 that I hangar over at OAK, and am in the middle of building a Zodiac XL LSA. I hope to have the Zodiac flying by the end of the year.

Hello again,

Thanks very much everyone for the kind reception. Stan, I looked up your airplane project on the website and was impressed with the Zodiac. You might be interested to know that Rick Lindstrom, who apparently built a Zodiac for Kitplanes magazine, has his hangar right across from mine at HWD. I didn't know he has a Zodiac, but he has several airplanes on leaseback to the flying clubs and another hangar at HWD that I've never seen. Small world...

Regards,
Harry

I know Rick, and have been following his Zodiac articles in Kitplanes. He opted for a Corvair engine and I'm using a Jabiru 3300A. Rick flew a Grumman Tiger for a long time but I don't know if he stil has it. Allen Dake, owner of TurbineAir, is the A&P/IA I've used for my maintenance and my annuals on the 172 since I bought it in 1999, so I spend a lot of time at HWD. Rick at J&R does all my avionics work.

So does this that the two of you already know each other without realising it?

Harry, you may be my hero. Ten bikes and a wife that rides - what's not to like?!

Welcome to BikeForums!
