Hey!
Hey, I'm George. I'm new to the forums. I love riding for speed and distance, and this habit started recently. Me and a few friends went on a 10 mile-ish ride a few weeks ago, and I loved the feeling of speeding downhill and power pedaling up hills. Since then, every ride has gotten just a little longer. I'm riding a bike a borrowed from one of those friends, a Trek 520 Touring bike. He's offering to sell it to me, and I think I will buy it. Anyway, I hope to learn more about my new hobby and maybe even make some friends.

Hi George.
I know what you mean about liking speed and distance. It's become an addiction of mine. I started off 10 years ago thinking 12 miles was an epic journey, and just last weekend I did 100 miles in the searing heat and humidity
Anyway, welcome to the forums.

Hello George, that Trek 520 is a great touring bike. What year is it? If it's vintage enough, we'd love photos over at the Classic & Vintage forum.

ohh and btw, judging by the components on the 520, id say its a late 80's to early 90's, although im not entirely sure. i'd have to check with my uncle who bought the bike, haha. you should really invest in a set of clipless pedals and a computer for it, even though its my bike, but whatev ahha.
