Newbie girl from NJ

I am a year around competitive volleyball player looking to expand my workouts, as its not really helping me lose weight...I am not 18 anymore with a superfast metabolism! (i'm 28 now). I started running this past month and I'm surprised I actually like it now. I hated running when I was younger. I have a Trek 930 that I bought when I was in college in Philly and used to go out all the time. Riding from Roxborough/Manayunk to central Philly via Kelly Drive was one of my favorites. When I transferred and finished college at Rutgers and then eventually moved to Edison with my boyfriend, my bike basically collected dust. Today, I brought it in to get a tune up and new inner tubes, and I should be ready to go ride by this weekend. I also recently got a Garmin Forerunner 305, and have been tracking my runs...which is one of my biggest motivations to run. I love techno stuff! I also bought the cadence sensor for my bike and I can't wait to try that out too. Whew...thats my life in a nutshell basically...

Hello canisixpaku, are you getting slicks for the Trek? That could make it a nice riding bike on the street.

How about some photos?

Welcome to BF!

I don't! You would need either another pair of wheels (to make swapping out easier), or want to leave the slicks on more or less permanently.

I would think for around $100 you could probably get fitted up with a spare pair of wheels, though.
