New guy from Westchester

Hi to all. My name is Bill and I live in Westchester (near LAX). I often ride in Marina del Ray and Santa Monica. My road bike is an old Trek 5200. My goal for 2008 is to do a century each month whether organized or informal. I'm 52 years old so the pace will be pretty slow :0) Look forward to being a part of the group.

Bill

Hi Bill, with your interests you should be able to manage a ride every month up to Mount Wilson and back .

Welcome to BF!

So, no In-n-Out burger for Brian?

I like your observatory! I would guess that you ride mountain bikes there?

There are miles of great mountain bike trail near Idyllwild but I am a road guy. I drag a bike up from LA sometimes and ride the hills. It makes quite a difference in riding at 5,200' altitude versus riding along the beach front bike paths at home.

Hmmm, I forgot that you didn't say you had a MTB, but I was so taken by the photos of the observatory I figured you just HAD to have a MTB.

But, yes, the altitude does make a difference!
