New to Bike Forums
Hi All:
I am new to the Bike Forum and I fall into a couple of catagories here. I am one of the "big guys" at 275 lb and 6'-4" tall ... also fall into the 50+ catagory at 59 years old. In the last two years I have become a very big road biker and have done my century ride last summer and try to ride 3 to 4 times per week with quick 20 mile rides in the afternoons after work and then longer rides 40 to 80 miles on the weekends.
My bike is a Cannondale Touring T-800 bike and I am currently lusting after a lighter full carbon bike like the Cervello R-3. I have put on over 3000 miles in the last year that I have owned the Cannondale. Being in NJ this time of year cuts down on the riding but I try to get out when it goes over 40 degrees, and I do a spin class (90 minutes) at Brielle Cyclery ... trying for 2x per week.
I have been able to lose over 140 lb in the last two years and get into better shape than I have been for many years. I started a biking club in my community (Active Adult Community in Lakewood, Ocean County, NJ) and always looking for more riders to join with us on our rides. We usually get 2 to 5 riders on a typical ride and average between 14 and 17 mph depending on the slowest person in the group ... we do NOT drop anyone!!
Happy Biking ....

Hi Michael, you da man! There are many similar stories in the Clydesdales/Athenas forum, and it is always great to hear of another success.
Hit the regional forums and let the local NJ folks know about the no drop rides. That is one thing that means so much to someone just starting out riding, especially for the Clydes and Athenas
.
