New rider from Hawaii
Hello all, my name's Bob and I live out in paradise known as Hawaii. I've been active duty Navy for almost 22 years now and plan to make it a career.
I am new to the world of cycling and just bought my first road bike today, bought a 2008 Specialized Allez Elite. I'm a pretty fit guy and run everyday and I was looking for something to help break up running and thought cycling would be a great way to do it. My plans are to use the bike for fitness and commuting in the beginning until I get a little experience and then try and find a team out here and join them for some team rides and go from there. Glad I found these forums and hopefully I can learn alot from some of the more experienced guys here.

Hi Bob, nice start to your cycling years! Where are you riding (I'm assuming you are on Oahu?)?

Yeah I'm on Oahu. Still trying to scope out some of the best areas to ride in for my longer weekend rides. Weekdays will be mainly commutting back and forth to work which incluseds some pretty good hill climbs.

Hi Bob! You got yourself a fine machine there. WARNING: You are about to become a cycling addict! You'll see what I mean in a month or so.
