new and need help
Hello all,
So am new to the cycling world and new to this forum. 3 weeks ago I decided that I needed to ditch my mini-van and begin commuting [almost] everywhere by bike. And with that, I need to buy a new bike, but the more I look, the harder it becomes. If anyone can suggest a bike that can take pretty huge hills daily and retails for about 1500 (and is definitely not more than 2000), I would love to hear from you. Thanks for reading and and for any future help.
Aaron

Hi,
welcome to the forum. There are a lot of different types of bicycles these days.
Each seems to have a following. For commuting, the usual suspects include touring
bikes, sport bikes, cyclocross bikes, mtn bikes, hybrids and more.
But you will see people commuting on racing bikes and recumbents
and pretty much anything else you can think of.
I ride a sport bike. They are halfway between a racing bike and a touring bike.
They always have rack mounts and can carry a load.
I like to compare buying a bike to getting married. Buy in haste, repent at leisure.. Read, search through the archives here, test ride a bunch of bikes, and
buy the one you love.
Don't forget... we have a commuting forum.
