Hello from Hampshire, UK
I havent been riding for a while due to a badly broken arm in 2006 (not due to cycling), but determined to get back some fitness this summer. My main bike is a Diamond Back MTB (about 15 years old, Cromo with Shimano Deore components).
I also have a fixed wheel bike that I built while I was at school in the early 60's based on a Fiorelli frame I saved up for, plus taking parts of my Phillips and adding a long Primo stem and Cinelli track handlebars.
I also bought a second hand Claud Butler at that time. I dont know what model it is, but the frame is lugless and many of the components are GB. I guess its from around 1953-55.
Unfortunately these two old bikes have lain in the garden under the trees for a year and in a pretty poor state. I fancy getting the Fiorelli roadworthy and trying a fixed wheel again hence my visits to bicycle forums to get up to date.

Hello Alan, let us see some photos of those bikes! I would venture to guess that once you start looking at the bikes that have been outside, they probably just need a good cleaning. Take a look in the Classic & Vintage forum for some suggestions on how to get rid of rust (run a search for 'oxalic acid').
Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions !

Many thanks for the welcome East Hill and thePig. Here are some photos in ex-garden condition - if you can see through the rust!

I think the Butler has a way to go before it's roadworthy . The Fiorelli looks decent, actually.
Ermmm, are you into genealogy? Any one in the family from Lancashire? Are you related to me?

Had a bried look at your link and I don't believe I have any of your names. I have been trying to research my relatives for a few years. My mother was born in Stockport , and her father and ancestors, back to about 1800, came from Shrewsbury. I havent got further back yet. A lot of people moved to Manchester because of the work opportunities I guess. On my father's side I was lucky to find people who had already done a lot of research back to around 1600 in the Sussex area.

I could not resist asking when I saw your photo links!
I know all the rellies have been in Lancashire or Yorkshire since at least 1800. The ones in Yorkshire have been there probably since the 1600s, and they still exist in that tiny little village !
