Hi, I'm John, a 20 year old from Monroe (just south of Charlotte), NC. I'm a student at a local community college and work in a machine shop. I'm just now getting back into cycling as a ways of transportation and health. Through my teens I rode various BMX bikes, mostly on trails. This time around I'm interested in road bikes as they seem like the easiest way to get around town like I need to. My commute from home to work is 7.5 miles and my commute to school is around 10, all a mix of rural and downtown small town traffic with a few 55mph 2 lanes thrown in. I have an old cheapo MTB with street tires at the moment but should be upgrading soon to a nicer older roadbike.
I've learned a ton already and I've been lurking for only a few days. This seems like a good bunch of people on here. Thanks for the great forums.

Hello John, what road bike have you set your sights on? Are you going to be a Classic & Vintage fan?
