Hello from Georgia
Hi Everyone...
I live in Lawrenceville (a 'burb of Atlanta). I'm a Yankee by birth-from Ohio, but have been in the South since 1997 (8 of the past years in Atlanta).
I'm just getting into serious cycling and love it. My speed and distance are slow and short...lol...for now, but I intend to change that. The farthest ride I've taken so far has been 10mi. We have some great rail trails around here, but it's hard to ride in the city.
I ride a Univega Via Montega. I LOVE the way this bike feels. It's a perfect fit for me. It's a hybrid, and I only ride it as a street bike. Sometime in the future, I intend to get a mountain bike for trails. Any suggestions for a reasonably priced mountain bike for a beginner?
Good to be here.

Hello Sheri, try asking your question in the Mountain Bike forum. Do you have photos of your Univega?

Hi Sheri and welcome.
Stop by the Southeast Regional subforum and say hello to the locals.
What bike shop(s) have you visited looking for a mtn bike?

A Good Entry level Mountain Bike
Sheri, I am Mike from Montgomery, Alabama. I bought a Marin 29 about 3 months ago. It is a great entry level mountain bike. Marin has a good reputation and the 29er got very good reviews. I bought it new in Auburn, Alabama at the Bike Shop. There are a number of reviews of this bike in current publications and most think it is a steal for the price (around $775). I got mine for $670. I wondered if the dealer could replace it for that. Good luck to you.
