Hello from Des Moines

I'm a relapsed rider from Des Moines. Used to have a '01 Fuji Supreme hybrid that I would tool around town and bike paths on, but never really liked. Last year, picked up a Cannondale F6 mountain bike, though have found I've ended up on road more often, doing 40 or 50 miles at a time, which seemed not to make much sense on 26" wheels.. So just bought a '08 Specialized Tricross to make my transition to more of a road-style bike. I don't intend to race at any point really, but do want to get better at riding, and cover longer distances faster, but still have some versatility.

Bikes: Nishiki Nut! International, Pro, Olympic 12, Sport mixte, and others too numerous to mention.

Hi pdilly, it does get a bit old pushing a mountain bike 50 or 60 miles, doesn't it? I used to do 15-20 when I first got my bike, and eventually came to the conclusion that this was too painful .

Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions !
