introduction

Hi my name is Kev,
I live in smithfield va, i'm 49 yrs old and have got back into riding in the last 2 years. the reason for riding was to simply get fit, but of course i can't get enough of riding now. I keep an old specialised mountain bike in the back of my work van which i try to ride most days. I also have a 2 yr old Giant boulder mnt bike and recently picked up a 25 yr old myata 210 road bike from a thrift store for $5! the tires were perished so after spending $26 on 2 tires i have a road bike

Hey Kev,

You have some nice riding area there. We visted Smithfield by boat last year and took our bikes. I got out and saw your neighborhood so to speak. The country roads are really nice and scenic.

I did catch a crab pot on the river coming in and had to call a diver to cut if off. My wife laughed when the diver showed up in his blood covered T-shirt after coming directly from his day job at the meat processing plant. By the way, I love that ham!

Hi Kev, that Miyata will keep running for years if you treat the bike to a nice bottom bracket cleaning, and perhaps lube the bearings in the hubs.

Perhaps you could post some photos of the 210 in the Classic & Vintage forum?

Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions !
