Hello from Toronto
In the process of replacing a recently stolen bike. (Welcome to Toronto!!)
It'll be my third touring bike. My first, a Kuwahara Caravan treated me well for untold K's and about 20 years. Right now I'm leaning towards an Urbanite from Urbane Cycles in downtown Toronto. I'm a year round commuter, so dependable and sturdy is a big part of what I'm after.

Bikes: Nishiki Nut! International, Pro, Olympic 12, Sport mixte, and others too numerous to mention.
Hello Eric--it sounds as if you could do some helpful posting in the Winter Cycling forum. Have you done any touring, or are you just more comfortable on a touring frame?

It's been a while since I've done any serious touring. In the past though I've done a fair chunk of Southern England, the Pyrenees and Holland/Belgium/Norther France.
I'm looking forward to doing a nice tour next year sometime. Not quite sure where yet though!

Hey Eric, If you want to leave from the Tdot I find Montreal or Quebec City fun and easy destinations. Went to DC this summer, PensHILLvania is not a flat state! Next year Im going to NYC, seems there is a great trail along the Erie Canal, which would make it a fairly easy tour too.
The bike you speak of is it there copy of the Surly Long Haul Trucker? I have an old Miata one thousand that I so love!!!!
