New but old in Maryland
Hi All
Another new guy. Was a roadie in Austin Texas for years, both 40 mile rides on the weekend and commuting to the university on bike. The occasional century. About 3000 miles per year. Then I moved to Maryland, took a job with lots of travel and lived too close to work to commute by bike. Guess what I did? I got fat.
Well, jump 7 years ahead, and I am getting back into the swing of things. Retired my old Trek 1400 and bought a Felt F2C slightly used. Everything else had to go too! Shoes, clothes for a fat guy, etc.
I have been on the elliptical at work 5 days a week, pounding out the virtual miles, trying to get fit for riding. This weekend is my first out on the bike. If you don't hear from me again, its cause I died out there doing my wimpy 25 miler.
