back in the saddle

hey everyone....born again after about 15 years hiatus. Been missin' the the world as I 'm always on my mcycle goin' way too fast.
saw a used jamis a few weeks ago for an incredible price. it was in really bad shape, needed a total going over, new spokes/tires and a lot of work on the whole drive system. but it was still worth it. not a lot to look at but she goes.
used to be a messenger and was hardcore...didn't own a car or mcycle, just my raleigh.....
some poor goof wants to buy the jamis because swears they are Swiss made! I tried to straighten him out, but he is beyond logic. i'd feel bad taking his money, but may give in if he persists.
doesn't really matter to me, actually, the windsor is twice as fast and always is sort of undercover...it doesn't scream "steal me" . At least not to anyone who knows anything about bikes.
the clockwork has become my fave. its always in the right gear!
livin' where I do , so. fla. means there's not a hill in sight, so ss/fg is popular. Has been.

Question for the experienced: if you carried a very small kit with you on rides, what tools or spares would it contain? I've go an idea what i would carry, but wanna hear others-----much obliged...

This info has been posted several times in the Commuting, Road Cycling, and General Cycling forums.

wow, really unfortunate. i've been reading lots of the threads here on bike forum. i see some nice sounding people but mostly i see that things haven't changed much. too many cyclists i meet and read here are just terribly elitist. i read them making fun of cat 5 guys who show up at a race and aren't dressed in full race gear..had the nerve to wear a t-shirt, i read guys calling others "clydesdales", making fun of someone else's bike, and on and on. ...i can only imagine how nauseating meeting these snobs in person would be...generally, if you don't have a $5,000 bike and a conceited attitude, then you just ain't gonna fit. way too many bike shops are just the same. thank God for the internet.

to bike forum: why not be honest and rename the clydesdale threads to "thread for fat pigs"....calling folks a horse ain't no different. i though your forum didn't allow bigotry. oh well.

so long suckers! you'll see me in my cut off jeans flying by you....
