Hi,
I greatly enjoy the forum and thought I would introduce myself. I grew up in evanston outside of chicago and have been biking since about age 13- bought a beautiful green Raleigh Grand Prix (white brake hoods) around 73 and then a Raleigh Competition in 1975 (leftover 73 model). I still have the competition and am struggling with decisions on whether to paint, restore, upgrade, etc... I have a couple of mountain bikes as well - a raleigh technium I bought in 1988 when I lived in Hawaii. I still have this bike and bought a specialized rockhopper 3 years ago to hold a baby seat. I did this also to see if I would like mountain bikes more if I bought a new one - didnt work. I love the speed of a road bike and with the hillls in DC, the extra weight of the mountain bike just sucks some of the fun out of it for me. Thanks to all for all the great posts - such forums represent the best aspects and promise of the internet!

Hi, I am new here as well and it sounds like your not that far from me. Columbia is just a hop skip so that is cool. Where do you ride in the Dc area and what kind of riding do you do? I am rebuilding my Old Schwinn Continental so this could be interesting as I see you may be upgrading as well. Welcome and talk too you soon.
