Hi, New from just west of The Big Smoke.(TO)
HI folks, Name's Frank.
Just ordered a new Fuji Absolute to commute to work. Haven't ridden a bike steady in almost 20 years.
Have taken my kids 60lbs MTB a couple of times but that's definetly not for me. Hope to have my Absolute first few days of June.
Still have my 25yr old 10sp Raleigh bike tuck up in the garage, waiting for a single speed conversion one day.

Well hello Frank. A Fuji huh. For a commute. niiiiiccce!
I'm a year round nasty snowy weather commuter from the NorthEast, who loves the snow - and yet complain bitterly about it especially later in the season.
Ahh, yes commuting.
but I like it. 12 years car free and am in the position (meaning I work in the city and live in the city) that I CAN live without a car - whereas if I were to live out in the country - it would be a good 30 mile one way - and while I DO know people who do it - that just pales me. A bit too much.
but I do love it, perhaps it's the everyday bicycling that I've done for the last many years - and when I'm off it for a few days - it's just not right.
Welcome to the BikeForums btw - DO check out our Commuting forum - many people from around the world post there - as well as I - with lots of good info imparted too!

ThanX for the warm welcome.
Did I do the right thing? A Fuji for a commuter?
What ever happened to the normal 10sp of yester year?
Been away from cycling for so long, I can't beleive how they have evolved over the years.
