Hello from the Prairie
Always enjoyed 'recreational' cycling, but now am hoping to go a bit more 'hardcore'--but pacing myself! I know I have a lot to learn so, hopefully, this is the place to read all the wisdom and ask questions . . .
It's fun exploring the country roads of NW IL, where I currently live. I ride alone but with a cell phone! So far, haven't had a flat tire, but do have a portable pump.
Need tips on training--how to work up distance, etc. My bike is a Giant Innova, about 10 years old, but in good condition. I've been riding 20-30 mi. rides and gradually working up. Done one organized ride [in a driving rain!] and am signed up to do another . . . Am really, really new at this, so HELP!
