Good evening from a desert girl transplanted in VA
Hi!
I have been casually riding and commuting on an old bianchi axis that its previous owner turned into an interesting mountain mike for the beautiful trails of Flagstaff, AZ. Unfortunately, I have ridden it into the ground and it is deserving of an extreme makeover. In the meantime, this 5'5" girl is discovering the horrors of trying to purchase a new bike in a new town. I am not looking to spend much, but I live only 2 hilly miles from work, so I am sure I will figure out something, but would love any advice. I would like to find a shop in the area I feel comfy in. I love to ride for the fun, health, and environmental impact- I am not so into spandex I have gotten lazy over the last couple years and am eager to get back to my bike commuting ways, despite the hills and wet weather.

Welcome to Virginia. There's wonderful riding around here--the mountains and the Chesapeake Bay area and alot of beautiful farmland in between. Yes, there are hills in Virginia.
