new dt swiss rrc 1250

new dt swiss rrc 1250
i bought a new pair of dt swiss rrc 1250. Haven't tried them outdoors yet but when I spin them by hand, hand, they seem to not roll as much as my old zipp 404 and they make a roaring sound. Is there a breakin breakin period for these or could something else be wrong?
