Bikes: Rebuilt Trek MultiTrack 850

Hello from Seattle

Returning rider. I rode all the time in HS and then used my ride for transpo in college. It's sat in my shed while I got heavy, (I mean worked too much).

Pulled the bike out of the shed and started the rebuilding process on my '94 (?) Trek Multitrack 820. Will be turning it into a commuter/errand bike. So far I've completely stripped it, painted and added new fork (Surly LHT), new headset (Cane Creek S1), stem (some Cannondale thing), and bars (Origin8 Tiki mustache bars).

Hopefully I'll be getting some more parts throughout the winter and actually getting out come February for my 9mi. one-way commute to downtown. Wish me luck!

Good Luck on your parts search.
Post some pics when you get it finished.

Thanks 10 wheels. I shall do my best, but is one's bike ever really "finished"?

Yes, What could you add to my touring bike?

Howdy echo2011! If you're in Seattle, do you have a good (meaning safe/not too difficult) route from Northgate to downtown? Need a relatively easy ride to start getting back in shape.

Here is the beginning of the rebuild. Rattle can gray. Woot!

Here is the preliminary re-putting together. I'll be getting new rims eventually. Next up though is a new BB and crankset. Then i can figure out where my seat should be and where the stem should be. Then I'll cut down the steerer tube and get that all secure.

Parts so far-
Headset: Cane Creek S-1
Fork: Surly LHT (26")
Stem: Cannondale 110mm 10° rise
Bars: Origin8 Tiki
Seat: $4 find at Goodwill (Vetta) I may or may not keep this.
