Bikes: Giant Escape 1, Raleigh SC 40

Greetings
William from northern IL joining Bike Forums. I ride the trails in Lake County IL and commute on my Raleigh SC 40. Currently looking for another bike that is a bit faster. I'm in my mid 50's and have been riding regularly for 11 years. I'm mainly on paved and crushed limestone trails.

My commute is 22 miles round trip. All on bike path so I have little interaction with vehicular traffic, which I like.
