Hello to Everyone
Hi,
My name is Rusty. I live in the upstate of South Carolina, USA. I'm getting back into serious riding after about a 10 year layout. I'm 50 and need to loose weight so what better way than doing something I love. I've been riding for over 45 years, and repairing/building bikes (if one considers turning trash into treasures building) since my dad showed me how to fix a flat on my Schwinn Sting Ray back in 1966. My first bike by the way.
My current bikes, all fixer-uppers, are as follows; drum roll please….
1978 Colnago Super (which I'm overhauling) I rode over 10,000 miles on this bike and it was a used frame when I became it's new owner.
1980 Raleigh Technium MTB (needs a bath and lube job) Another used frame that I stomped out a few thousand trail miles on.
1991 Schwinn CrissCross (my current everyday rider) Rescued from a dumpster, new tubes/tires, and tuning it up is all it needed. I plan to overhaul it when I finish the Colnago.
Museum pieces, compared with todays high tech machines but very dependable.
Well I've rambled on long enough, great to be here with you at Bike Forum, great to still be anywhere these days to tell the truth!
Thanks to everyone that makes this site run!
Peace,
Rusty
