Hey! from south Louisiana.
Found yall via Google...I'm 22 and from south Louisiana. I bought my girlfriends little girl her first bike for Christmas, so we grabbed a little 12" Huffy for her to get started on (she just turned 3). The other day I decided hey, I want us to have bikes, too. I haven't rode one regularly in like 10 years, my girlfriend probably longer. Won't lie, I did something that would make most of you rollover in your graves and bought the two cheapest bikes WalMart sold short of a single speed. Two Roadmaster Granites
24" models since neither one of us are very tall. I'm sure a 26" wouldn't be a problem but I just chose two that matched and were less than $200 together. If I upgrade before mine goes completely to trash I'll just keep parting out one to keep the other going until I decide my female counterpart is worth the investment on a better rig
I figure I will ride mine till it starts coming apart and if I still use it regularly I will look at perhaps a Trek? Or something along those lines. I live in a great small town where numerous food joints, stores, the bank, library, clinic, etc are within a mile of my house so I'm hoping to make it a point to use the bike even if the distances aren't great, just to change up my day to day routine
Today I made it a point to drive past the post office after work, go home, and ride back on my bike and hope to continue that trend and more as weather permits. I ride my bike to the PO...and realized I left the keys at home, so made the trip twice today
Mine:
Peeled the dorky stickers off last night. Didn't want everyone to know how awesome my bike is

And hers. Not purple like she likes, but her next one will be.

Maybe I'll see you guys around, especially if I keep riding and move up to something worth discussing, haha

Howdy! Don't worry too much about what you're
riding, you're riding a bike and that's all that matters

I have another hobby that took all my money late this year, so the two wheelers had to be really affordable, lol.
