Hello from Newcastle, OK!
Hey there 'bikeforums'! I'm 20 years old, and haven't rode a bike in a good 6 or 7 years. I rode all the time when I was younger, and I really have been wanting to get back into it.
So I started looking around for a bike with about a 500/600 dollar budget. Man did I really luck out on what I ended up getting.
My mother works for a property management company, and I had done some filing work for them for a few months. I became pretty good friends with the CEO of the company, and I started talking to him about how I was looking into getting a bike, because I knew that he rides. I figured he would be a good person to maybe get some opinions/advice from.
He had a 2011 trek 7.5fx, and then turned right around and got a brand new one. He's a really generous guy and offered to give it to me, of course I tried to pay him, but he just wouldn't budge.
Needless to say I'm now the proud owner of that 7.5fx:

and I absolutely love it!
At times I think I probably don't deserve such a nice bike for where my level of riding is at. But I appreciate this gift more than anyone can imagine!
I plan on using this for transport, fitness, recreational rides, and just cruising around my neighborhood.
I was just able to ride it for the first time about a week and a half ago, even though I got it over 2 months ago.
I've rode it every day since then, I just can't get enough.
I went ahead and bought a helmet(Bontrager Quantum), and some riding gloves(pearl izumi ELITE Gel-Vent FF) Both of which are pretty comfortable.
As you can see I've already got a under the seat pouch, and a bottle holder, so I also purchased a camelbak podium chill bottle that I'm really enjoying.
I'm looking forward to my stay here at bikeforums!
