hello from alaska! 58 years of age and a bit overweight. woke up one morning a while ago and realized I had to be more physical if I wanted to get off my entry level meds for blood pressure and blood sugar control. I had met a friend who had to graduate from pill to shots and that was the turning point. I have a few bicycles so pulled them out and started riding. snow and ice the first couple of weeks. I have discovered randoneering and will be doing my first 200k ride this month on the denali highway. long and slow is better at my age. being retires gives me a lot of time to ride, not like I was young and hopped on the bike after work. when I was younger I did ride 2k miles a year so now is remembering.
