Hello everyone!

My son belongs to a couple of on-line forums and he has a great time. I guess it's time I get into the 21st century.

I am a Scoutmaster and enjoy introducing the Scouts and their families to cycling. We start off the new guys on a wonderful Class 1 Bikeway in Orange County and go on to some unique rides as their skill and fitness improves. Our last ride was at Coyote Dry Lake and it turned out to be not so dry! Ever pedal through wet clay? Unfortunately, we had to cut the ride short. We all agreed it was the longest two miles we ever rode.

Mostly, my bike rides consist of commuting to work in LA county. I've always enjoyed cycling in the city.

Crazy, huh?

Glad to hear from another commuter in SoCal (There's not very many of us, is there?) I'm from the South Bay.

Keep up the good work teaching kids about biking...maybe we'll have more commuters in the future.

Webist: Yes, snow is in the mountains! I wanted to scuba dive this weekend, but my sons insist on going snowboarding. We can do both! Only in So Cal!

SipperPhoto: Well, I have ridden all the way to work a couple of times, but I just don't have the time or fitness to do it every day. I'm lucky to get in 50 miles a week these days...

eubi I was okay until I saw your intro. I lived in Sunland right there in the Foothills of Burbank and Flintridge for 40 years. Great rids on dirt and road (I like hill work). Now I live in Ohio where the weather is a killer! No real hills.
