Bikes: Some old used 10-spd road bike from the 1980's

My name is Linda and I have been spurred to learn more about bicycles by my desire to purchase a folding bicycle for multi-modal commuting. Until recently, I drove my brother to and from the train station before and after work, but now that he does not have that job anymore, I am free to bicycle to the train if I want. I have had two really nice bicycles stolen from train stations, so I want a bicycle that I can take with me on the train.
My only bicycle is an old used 10-speed road bike that no one has stolen so far. I don't even know what make or model it is, but it has a skinny-tubed frame and originally had ram's horn handlebars.
