new twist on an old love

Hi,

My name is Matt. I have always loved bikes ever since my first when I turned five. It was red with a hard plastic seat and solid rubber tires. I taught myself how to ride in the dead-end street next to our house. When I was older and got my first multi speed (15 speed. only girls got 14 speeds, or so it seemed to me) I taught myself how to adjust the brakes and derailleurs. Now I'm 27 and just beginning my studies to become a proficient frame-builder. I hope to one day own a bike shop.

Welcome to Bike Forums! It's funny how an old love can creep up on you, huh? Haha! Good to hear that you are getting beck into the swing of things, but on a different level. Hoping you got the chance to check out the link above, that's our frame building section. There's a lot you can learn there, some of the people that pop on there are famous frame makers who will be able to guide you through your project. Good luck and have fun!

Welcome aboard! Sounds like a pretty sweet undertaking. Good luck with the frame building, and make sure to keep us updated on how it goes!
