Regular clothes vs the good old lycra

What are people opinions thoughts, expreiences etc.
What do you wear?
Do you wear under where under lycra. why or why not?
what are the benefits with the bib style shorts that go over the sholders.
what types do people use Skins etc.

I go commando and so does everyone else I know or ride with. Underwear defeats the purpose of the padding/chamois in cycling shorts.
