Howdy from Northeast GA!

Hi everyone, cycling n00b here. No, really. While I rode my bike anywhere I could when I was a kid, and did some mountain biking when I was 12-13 and thereabouts, I haven't really ridden bikes much in the past 10+ years, other than occasionally hopping a fixed gear rental on vacations. Well, recently I've thought about getting myself a road bike as part of my ongoing goal of getting fit, and possibly commuting to work instead of driving as well as riding on the weekends for fun/exercise.

So, I ended up here looking for information on cycling and equipment, and there seems to be such a wealth of shared knowledge here that I thought I'd sign up and try to mooch some advice off of you folks!

Welcome to Bike Forums. Stop by the Southeast Regional subforum and say hello to the locals in the Atlanta/Decatur thread. Lots of Atl area commuters on here.
